Instrumental – Folk Version
Vaishnav Jana To – a Bhajan dear to Mahatma Gandhi – has been recreated into an instrumental folk version by Doordarshan in association with Ministry of Culture. The track which is celebratory in nature is a tribute to the life and times of the Mahatma on his 150th Birth Anniversary. In an attempt to revive diverse folk instruments of our country, this version has been composed by Padmashri Bhajan Sopori by bringing together 60 folk instrument artists. The song has been picturised in different locations across India where Mahatma Gandhi visited or iconic cultural sites.
